RA Lee Stakes History
First run in 1979 the race’s official title up until 1994 was the Robert A. Lee Stakes.
From 1995 to 1999 the event was known as the City Of Adelaide Handicap and then underwent a number of name changes due to sponsorship.
Abbreviated to the RA Lee Stakes it reverted back to its traditional name from 2006 onwards.
Up until 2005 the RA Lee Stakes only held Listed status before gaining its current Group 3 ranking.
